Brookdale Concordia Chorale

After 11 years as the Concordia Chorale, our 60-voice adult choir became the resident chorus at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft NJ in the fall of 2012. We rehearse in the Performing Arts Center building and provide choral training and performance opportunities for the voice students at the college along with preparing our own concerts.

When COVID struck in March of 2020 we moved to Zoom rehearsals and continued to perform outdoors on the campus, weather permitting! We are now planning our 2024-2025 season which will culminate with a concert tour of Portugal and Spain in late June - early July of 2025.

As you see from our Performance History page, we specialize in the major works of the choral repertory. We have an enviable history of performing nearly half of Handel's 21 oratorios together with many of Bach and Mozart's major works.

Concordia is well known to area singers for our commitment to touring both locally and internationally. We have sung many times at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and other major concert sites, but our specialty is international touring.

In 2018 we sang our first 'choral residency' at Exeter Cathedral in England. A 'choral residency' is when you replace the cathedral choir and sing all the required services for a few days while the cathedral choir is on holiday.

In 2019 we sang a concert tour in China (just in time!), singing in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Beijing and the Great Wall. The host choirs with whom we performed were unbelievably receptive and welcoming. They sang Chinese national music and sang an all-American program. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
