Brookdale Concordia Chorale
After 11 years as the Concordia Chorale, our 40-voice adult chamber choir became the resident chorus at Brookdale Community College in the fall of 2012. It is now the Brookdale Concordia Chorale. September brings our 16th season. We rehearse in the PAC building at Brookdale on Monday nights at 8pm. We sing the masterworks of the classical repertory and we have performed a wide range of major works by Bach, Handel and Mozart in particular. The selections for the 2017-2018 season include Brahms’ Lieberslieder Waltzes, Randall Thompson’s cycle Frostiana, John Rutter’s wonderful Mass of the Chldren, Handel’s magnificent Israel in Egypt in collaboration with the Shrewsbury Chorale, and Schubert’s Mass #4 in C.
As well as performing regular seasons of local concerts, the Brookdale Concordia Chorale frequently performs in New York City. Recent visits include performing the Brahms Requiem at Carnegie Hall in May of this year, and the world premiere of Rene Clausen’s Festival Te Deum at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in 2014.
